The inspiration for the Hightail project stemmed from the concepts of freedom and simplicity associated with riding motorbikes. Angela Spindler, the creative director and designer, aimed to translate these ideas directly into the packaging itself. The result is a sleek and unique multi-layered film pouch that embodies the essence of Hightail.

The Hightail packaging design not only meets the client's criteria but also stands out with its unisex appeal. The packaging is designed to be reusable, allowing riders to store and transport their Hightail accessory conveniently. Its lightweight nature ensures cost-effective freight costs, making it an ideal choice for riders around the world.

One of the standout features of the Hightail packaging is its high product visibility. The frosted film used in the design highlights the black product, while a laminated red film on the reverse side of the foil adds a touch of visual interest. This combination of materials and colors creates an eye-catching packaging design that grabs attention.

The Hightail packaging is made using gravure printing technology. The zip lock foil pouch is constructed with PET Foil and PE Foil, printed with four spot colors and finished with a matte varnish and spot UV gloss varnish. The instruction booklet, printed using offset printing, features single-sided coated paper board and is also printed with four spot colors, along with a machine varnish and spot UV gloss varnish.

Throughout the design process, Angela Spindler and her team faced various challenges, including maintaining continuity of thought over the two-year project duration. However, their dedication and attention to detail resulted in a packaging design that perfectly encapsulates the essence of Hightail.

The Hightail packaging design has received recognition for its excellence. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category in 2022. This prestigious award acknowledges well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements.
